Superalloys
Nickel-based superalloys. The Group has studied Inconel 625 in rolled rings for Oil & Gas applications and Alloy 718 in rings for aircraft engines.
- UNS N06625 (Inconel 625)
- UNS N08825 (Inconel 825)
The Group can also supply different steel grades with chemical compositions tailored to meet specific customer requirements.
From billet to forged bloom.
We purchase raw materials in different forms to meet customer requirements without extending procurement lead times.

The starting point of every forging.
Continuous-cast billets and ingots of various types and sizes from qualified Italian and European producers; forged blooms for special stainless steel applications. For specific categories, such as large ingots, the Group also sources from qualified suppliers in Asia or the United States.

European steel, largely from recycled feedstock.
Steel can be recycled without losing its properties. In 2025, 57% of the raw materials purchased came from recycled feedstock; for the wind energy sector, customers still predominantly require steel produced from iron ore.
Metallurgy researched, not just sourced.
Together with the University of Padua and CNR-ICMATE, the R&D team studies the microstructure and heat treatment of superalloys, duplex steels and alloy steels.
Frequently asked questions about materials
What materials do you use?
Carbon and fine-grain C/Mn steels, alloy steels, superalloys, high-strength low-alloy steels, stainless steels and duplex steels.
Do you work with Inconel and nickel-based superalloys?
Yes: Inconel 625, Inconel 825 and nickel-based alloys. The Group has published studies on UNS N06625 for Oil & Gas rolled rings and on Alloy 718 for aircraft engines.
Do you supply steels with chemical composition to specification?
Yes. The Group can supply steels with chemical composition tailored to customer requirements.
Where does the steel come from?
More than 95% of raw materials are purchased on the European market, with a strong presence of Italian suppliers. For specific categories, such as large ingots, the Group also sources from qualified suppliers in Asia or the United States.
How much recycled steel do you use?
In 2025, 57% of the raw materials purchased came from recycled feedstock, largely due to sourcing from electric arc furnace steelmakers. The wind energy sector, however, prefers steel produced from iron ore.
In what forms do you purchase raw materials?
Continuous-cast billets and ingots of various types and sizes; forged blooms for special stainless steel applications.
How are materials tested?
Through chemical analyses and mechanical and metallurgical testing in the in-house Forgerossi Research laboratory, accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.
Do you have a material specification?
Provide the grade, standard and testing requirements: we will confirm feasibility, sourcing form and heat-treatment cycle.
